About The Artist

Hye Joung Tibby is an Award Winning Artist who creates a Life-like portrait on her canvas either it's a human or an animal. Her painting style is realistic yet has her distinctive painterly elements.

 She originally came from South Korea and had never touched oil painting before until she came to Southern California. She was a teacher, translator, and church choir conductor in Korea but when she came to America, she wanted to find something that she hasn't tried before and something she can only do better as she gets older... 

Oil painting is what she found and there was no turning back.

In about 6 months after she had started painting, she got her first portrait commission. She also won many awards in California Region for more than a decade.

She has created numerous commissioned portraits of people and animals until she gave a birth to her daughter In 2012.

 She decided to take a break from painting to just focus on raising her.

As of today, she is here to create again.

She has always enjoyed painting various subject matters as you can see from her website but she really enjoys painting cats because cats have special place in her heart.

She currently has 3 beloved cats and has Youtube channel with them.
